As I think about the early days of Scarlet Hope Reno, I am overwhelmed by all that God has done over the years. What started out as just a couple of women and me approaching one of Reno’s strip clubs, asking if we could serve a home-cooked meal to the ladies working there, has turned into a blossoming ministry with a full team of volunteers. We have faithfully served every strip club in Reno for over seven years, sharing the gospel and praying with women every chance we get. I have had the sincere privilege of watching God open doors I thought would always remain shut, soften hearts that seemed impossibly hardened, and transform the lives of women who once had no hope.
None of this would have been possible without the prayers and support of God’s people. Not only have dozens of women joined me on the frontlines of ministry, serving late nights each and every week to do strip club outreach; there have been hundreds of people going to battle in prayer for us, supporting us financially, cooking for us, and so much more. One of the most humbling parts about this ministry has been seeing God bring people to provide exactly what we need when we need it.
God continues to bring new opportunities for us to share the hope and love of Jesus with women in Reno’s adult entertainment industry. Last year He provided a Resource Center for us where we can host bible studies, gather to pray as a team, and meet with and counsel women we meet in the clubs. God also continues to give us opportunities to reach more women through strip club outreach and to disciple them and connect them to resources. There is still so much work to be done for the Kingdom and I’m excited to see all the ways He will move in the coming year!
I truly believe God is leading Scarlet Hope Reno through a season of growth so that more women will be reached with the gospel. That is why we are launching the Reach Reno campaign. For the month of July, we have set a goal of raising $10,000 to support the growth and expansion of our ministry. The support we raise this month will go directly towards our efforts to reach more women in Reno’s adult entertainment industry.
