Scarlet Hope exists to share the hope and love of Jesus with the women in the adult entertainment industry. Our volunteers have been bringing food trays, Scripture cards, and the gospel message to the strip clubs in Reno since 2013. Our hope is that through our outreach efforts, women would come to know Jesus and put their faith in Him for salvation. We are committed to walking alongside every woman seeking help, providing support, and discipling in God’s word.

Join us this Fall for an exciting evening hearing what God has done through Scarlet Hope Reno. We are celebrating eight years of gospel outreach to Reno’s adult entertainment industry! Raffle tickets will be available for purchase at the door (cash or card). This year’s speakers will be the ministry’s Founder, our new Executive Director, one of the women impacted by our ministry, and Reno’s Founder, Jarré Poh. Our theme this year centers around the worth of our Savior, the Lamb of God, and how the promise of His coming motivates us to make Him known.

Rachelle Starr is first and foremost a lover of Jesus. In 2007, Rachelle founded Scarlet Hope, a nonprofit dedicated to sharing the hope of Jesus with women in the adult entertainment industry. Scarlet Hope has since expanded across six cities in the United States and has trained thousands to launch similar nonprofits worldwide. Rachelle with her team launched a Career Development Program through which women can receive employment and valuable job skills to prepare them for brighter futures. Rachelle and her husband, Josh, have two sons, Isaac and Caleb, and currently live in Louisville, KY.

Jarré Poh is a Nevada native who knew since the age of 13 that God wanted her in full-time ministry.  When she and her husband moved to Louisville so her husband could attend seminary, God providentially caused her path to cross with Rachelle’s, and she had an immediate desire to join the ministry there.  In 2012, she began serving with Scarlet Hope Louisville, and God used her time there to impress on her heart the need to start a similar work when she returned to her hometown of Reno. A year later, after being trained and coached by Rachelle, Jarré and her husband moved back to Reno, and Scarlet Hope Reno officially began. Jarré is committed to bringing the gospel to women in the adult entertainment industry and walking with them as they grow, heal, and become the person God created them to be. Jarré relishes jogging and solitude, but between being a pastor’s wife, homeschooling her four children, and leading a ministry, Jarré doesn’t remember what free time looks like!
